The WORLD Policy Analysis Center has been leading an initiative to make information publicly available on what works to advance gender equality through legislation, policy, and implementation around the world. Over the past two years, WORLD undertook a series of oral histories via Zoom to highlight some extraordinary civil society initiatives that have significantly advanced gender equality. The goal of these oral histories is to highlight successes and challenges, illustrate what types of changes have been feasible and effective in different settings, and identify which strategies have yielded greatest success. We hope to make these stories accessible to leaders and others around the world to support and inspire further change.
WORLD is seeking a student employee to use interview footage to develop multiple videos showcasing the most compelling and useful sections of these oral history interviews. WORLD team members will provide existing video footage and will work with the student to conceptualize the structure and content of the videos.
The individual will be responsible for:
- Editing existing footage down to individual sections to highlight
- Ensuring consistency in presentation of the finished product across interviews, including adding opening and closing graphics, adding transition footage or graphics, and adding other logos/branding as needed
- Developing a narrative from individual video sections
- Adding text captioning to videos while maintaining visual coherence
In addition to funding, WORLD will also offer the student a physical space to work (if desired) and mentoring throughout the project.
Students from all fields who have the relevant experience are welcome to apply.
