To support a global data and training project on accelerating poverty reduction and achieving the SDGs, WORLD was thrilled to work with an exceptional group of global, interdisciplinary researchers from across UCLA and international universities as Faculty Affiliates. The Faculty Affiliates served on selection committees, mentored and trained the Hilton Scholars, collaborated on efforts to advance the SDGs, and provided ongoing input and guidance to the fellowship program. Additionally, the Faculty Affiliates contributed to the SDG Seminar Series, which brought together multidisciplinary experts from UCLA and other universities, Hilton Scholars, and research and knowledge dissemination mentors. The Seminar Series created a space for connection and collaboration with potential faculty mentors, to foster future research questions in SDG-related topics, and to provide mentorship and training on comparative research methods. Over the course of the project, the student training elements supported 99 students across 18 disciplines with training fellowships and worked in direct partnership with community-based organizations and civil society organizations from more than 100 countries.
